Factoría deals, in both praxis and theory, with the most experimental contemporary audiovisual creations: works that fall between the institution of cinema and restricted exhibition channels of an alternative character; a body of work which is no longer unitary, characterized instead by the extreme proliferation of exhibition sites and formats.

Factoría focuses its interest on the interweaving of genres, media, formats and tendencies: the most advanced in auteur and essayistic cinema, “museum” video art, underground productions far removed even from the circuits of independent film.

This fertile meeting point is the territory of Factoría’s action and research, hosting a wide selection of video creations, interrelations between fiction and documentary, essayistic cinematographic forms which establish interdisciplinary dialogues, debates tackling the models of reproduction and exhibition and the intervention of space through audiovisual content.
